 HKS ยังคงใช้ T04E ทริมขนาด 42T, 46T เรื่อยมาในเทอร์โบคิตหลายรุ่น เช่น 1G-GTE และโรตารี่ จนประมาณปี 1988 ก็เริ่มแยกเป็นรุ่นที่ใหญ่กว่าคือ T45 และรุ่นเล็กกว่าออกมาคือ T300 (ไอดีใหญ่กว่า T3 ปรกติมาก) โดยเลือก T45 กับเครื่องยนต์ 6 สูบเรียงบล็อกใหญ่ทั่วไป

 ส่วน T300 สำหรับเครื่องยนต์ 6 สูบเรียงขนาดย่อม ความจุกระบอกสูบ 2,500 ซีซี และเครื่องยนต์ 4 สูบเรียง ที่มีความจุกระบอกสูบ 2,100-2,200 ซีซี ซึ่งเทอร์โบคิตทั้ง 2 รุ่นประสบความสำเร็จพอสมควรจากผู้บริโภค

 ในด้านความสัมพันธ์กับแกร์เร็ตต์ ถือว่าอยู่ในระดับดีมาก ถึงขนาด HKS สามารถสั่งระบุการผลิตเป็นเทอร์โบรูปแบบพิเศษเฉพาะที่ผลิตให้แก่ HKS เพียงรายเดียว เช่น T04R ที่ได้พัฒนาจาก T04E อันโด่งดัง โดยสามารถแก้ไขการรอรอบที่เกิดกับเทอร์โบใหญ่ของ T04E ได้ โดย T04R ใช้ใบไอดีที่มีขนาดฐานใบใหญ่ถึง 84 มิลลิเมตร และยอดใบไอเสียเล็กเพียง 64.7 มิลลิเมตร

 ต่อมาไม่นานหลังจากที่ TRUST เปิดตัวเทอร์โบ T78 และ T88 ออกสู่ตลาดเพื่อมาประกบคู่กับเทอร์โบ T45S และ T51S ซึ่งเป็นเทอร์โบระดับ 800 แรงม้า HKS ได้ร่วมมือกับแกร์เร็ต เพื่อผลิตเทอร์โบที่ดีที่สุดออกมา นั่นคือ T51R โดย HKS เป็นผู้ผลิตโข่งไอดี โข่งไอเสีย และใบไอดีภายในโรงงานใหญ่ รวมถึงประกอบเองภายในโรงงาน HKS

 เทอร์โบ T51R สามารถขับแรงม้าได้สูงถึง 1,000 แรงม้า ใช้ใบไอดีขนาดฐาน 102.2 มิลลิเมตร ยอดใบไอดีขนาด 76.5 มิลลิเมตร ใหญ่ที่สุดในบรรดาเทอร์โบจากสำนักจูนนิ่งทั้งหลาย
